The Mega Millions Lottery replaced 'The Big Game' in May 2002 which started, with just six participating states, these were Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan and Virginia.
Now, the lotto has grown to include 42 states, most of which also sell tickets for it's Powerball counterpart.

Draws take place at 11:00pm Eastern time on Tuesday's and Friday's at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, with the lotto results broadcast across the USA.
